Mad Men

And then there was 1.  I really cannot get over the brillance of last week's episode. Truly.  And it makes me sad that we're already at the final episode of the season.

Season 3, Episode 13: "Shut the Door. Have a Seat"
Don has an important meeting with Connie. Betty receives some advice. Pete talks to his clients.

Remember to track.

(I'll try to chine in tomorrow. I'm still battling a bad cold and I need to start packing for my trip.)

mad men: "the grown-ups"

Mad Men
Last week's episode proves why Mad Men is one of the best shows on tv and why JON HAMM DESERVES A FICKIN EMMY. It also proves that January Jones is more than just a pretty face.

Season 3: Episode 12: The Grown-Ups
Don meets with an impressive candidate. Peggy second guesses her taste in men. Pete makes big career decisions.

Time to chat about this week's episode.

Mad Men

Episode 11? My how time flies.

Season 3, Episode 11: The Gypsy and the Hobo
A former client returns to Sterling Cooper.  Betty takes the kids on a trip.  Joan and Greg plan for their future.

Yay! Joan. I fear for Sally just reading the description of the episode. Poor Sally. (You just Betty will demonstrate her mother of the year qualities.)

Come join the discussion.

Mad Men

Yes, I'm aware I'm starting the thread for this week's episode and I have yet to comment on last week's. Whatever. It was an insane week. I'll try and catch up with my commentary this week. Last week was beyond good.

Season 3, Episode 7: Seven Twenty Three
Betty becomes involved in local politics; a troubling incident leads Don to begin thinking about his future; and Peggy is on the receiving end of an exquisite gift.

Hmmm....   Grab your martini and relax. Remember to track the conversation as some folks post later in the week. Or when they eventually get around to viewing/commenting.

It's not the football team from Glee,  but the kid is too much.

I love how his little leg kicks out.

Former Governor Blow-dry is on The Daily Show tonight. As if listening to that crazy man wasn't enough... TDS folks have created a bingo card for you to play along at home.

I LOVE IT.

Mad Men

(I'm setting this up early because I'm in a meeting all day and have no idea when I'll be home. Plus, I'll likely watch the Emmys tonight - If I'm lucky - and catch up on Mad Men tomorrow evening.)

Season 3, Episode 6: "Guy Walks Into an Advertising Agency"
A surprise visitor shows up at Sterling Cooper; Sally gets spooked by something (or someone); and Joan is the recipient of some surprising news.

As always, remember to track the conversation.

The good people at Funny or Die have a Mad Men spoof, MA Men: The Massholes at Sterling Cooper.

I love that Nate Corddry is in it. (I wasn't a New Kids fan so Joey doesn't excite me.) I miss Nate.

Note: Probably not safe for work unless you work in an office like mine.

A third of the season is over already. I can't believe that! But I'm going to focus on all the episodes left in this season.

Season 3, Episode 5: The Fog
Betty and Don deal with Sally. Pete pursues a new angle in business. Betty has a strange dream.

Remember to track and come back.

I love craft fairs. But even folks who aren't fans of craft fairs would love The Renegade Craft Fair. Seriously where else can you eat vegan food, drink beer and listen to some rocking music while buying t-shirts that say "Knitting Takes Balls" or "Gunslinger" with an image of a glue gun. (Best friend got the knitting t-shirt.)

the loot )

Then afterwards we headed to the theater to see "Extract". It wasn't quite "Office Space" but it was good. Honestly, do you need an excuse to watch Jason Bateman?

The only thing that sucked... driving the best friend to her boyfriend's apartment which is a couple of blocks from Soldier Field... and tonight was the first night of the U2 concerts. Traffic=horrible. And sunburn on my neck.

All Free Library of Philadelphia Branch, Regional and Central Libraries Closed Effective Close of Business October 2, 2009

I love my library and go there about once a week or so. As a kid I spent every day at our local library after school waiting for my mom to pick me up on her way home from work. I helped out in the library.

I cannot fathom not having a library.

Know folks in Philadelphia? Here's how they can help.

I really, really hope this situation is resolved. People, especially kids, need libraries. They provide numerous services to the community.
