another item to add to my wishlist

News that will make spending the afternoon with my rabid ChiSox-loving cousins bearable*.... thirtysomething is finally coming out on DVD.

I won't mention how old  I was in 1987 when it came out. I couldn't exactly relate to the characters but there was something about that show that I just loved.

I just can't believe I missed the announcement that it's actually coming out. Now I just need Ed to come out (with the original music).

*During the crosstown classic they get even more obnoxious to their Cub-loving cousins.

Great news, dear! Thanks for letting me know.

I loved that show. I wasn't quite old enough to relate to the characters either, but it made a big impression on me. I probably identified most with Melissa (to a point *g*). But the rest of the characters were fascinating...maybe because I was anticipating being married with kids and it was an attempt to show that in a realistic way. Great writing, great acting. And doesn't the theme song take you back? :-)

Awesome! I've been wanting to check it out on disc for a while, now. Since, like y'all, I was too young for it the first time. (And my parents didn't watch it, so I didn't watch it either.)

I'm looking forward to Busfield. Cutie-pie. :-)

woo-hoo! Been waiting to hear this news forever! I was a few years short of thirty when this first came on (though I feel like this was one I didn't start watching until the second season, that being the era where had first been burned by too-early cancellations such as Call to Glory).

From there it became appointment television for me. Such great writing and acting.

Great show, great news, thanks for letting us know!!
