today's viral video

This one is going around today. I think some of you will find it amusing. (Probably not you, tomfoolery815 )

Hey Gatz,

I saw that earlier today. While it was very amusing, and honestly illustrates some of the stupidity that is going on at the WaPo lately,* I got very depressed. I used to love that paper -- now I can barely read it.

*I don't know how much you follow the WaPo, so I'm not sure whether you know the event that video is satirizing. If you don't, let me know, and I'll type out the long explanation. :)

I know some of it.

I used to love that paper -- now I can barely read it.
I feel the same way about the Chicago Tribune. I canceled my subscription last month. It was a decision I didn't take lightly. I love the news, but the paper was getting more and more ridiculous. The number of typos and poorly written information was going up. Much of the articles I had already seen/read online. It's just not my paper anymore.

The whole thing makes me sad.

I feel for you, and your decision to cancel the Trib. It sounds like the writing has really declined there. At the post, it's not so much the quality of the writing, as the direction it's taken. It has become a very conservative paper, and the website is populated with a bunch of people, who in trying to make the paper relevant, are focusing on gimmicks (like the stupid mouthpiece theater, which was cancelled today) and snark. I used to love reading the daily political chats for hte information that I could actually gain. Now, it's all about how obnoxious the reporters can be when they interact with posters.
