(I'm setting this up early because I'm in a meeting all day and have no idea when I'll be home. Plus, I'll likely watch the Emmys tonight - If I'm lucky - and catch up on Mad Men tomorrow evening.)

Season 3, Episode 6: "Guy Walks Into an Advertising Agency"
A surprise visitor shows up at Sterling Cooper; Sally gets spooked by something (or someone); and Joan is the recipient of some surprising news.

As always, remember to track the conversation.

"He might lose his foot."
"Right when he got it in the door."

This was the best line in the episode, IMO. :-)

I love the Conrad Hilton thing..."think big." The thing is, Don is a *creation* of Dick Whitman's big thinking. Connie has no idea how much Don already has been thinking big all of his life.

It also drove home to me how much we needed the ADA in this country. ;-) Here's this incredibly talented guy, who it's just presumed won't be able to do his job. Don comes through again as the champion of the underdog, and the person who values talent above almost all else--"I don't think that's really necessary..."

Okay, I don't have really that much else to say. We were trying to figure out just how big Hilton was at this point (compared to, say, how massive it is now...)

Spoiled for choice here, aren't we A? I think my pick for best line is another of (shock!) Roger's: "Jesus, it’s like Iwo Jima out there. We should put a rubber mat down so Cooper can get around."

I also loved this exchange at the hospital:
Don: Joan ... my God!
Joan: (looking at her dress): I know. It’s ruined.
