I'm even more stupid than your average German au pair, cause I really thought Pete was being nice! Duh. Although I think it's possible, Pete being Pete, that HE thought he was being nice. Until he realized he wanted something and then got drunk. Ugh.
Not just you. I was sitting there thinking "Pete altruistic! Never thought those words would be in the same sentence." Then Pete reminded us who he is. It sounds as though we were all hoping it was altruism on Pete's part.

And that neighbor was pretty slimy.
It would appear that it took another man saying "Dude! Be more discreet about where you get some on the side" to finally make him feel guilty about serially cheating on Trudy. Because he's never shown a hint of guilty feeling in his after-the-fact conversations with Peggy. He was more interested in making Peggy feel bad for burdening him with the knowledge of her giving away their baby.

He and his wife are a good pair, in a messed up sort of way.
They're the least dysfunctional couple on the show, aren't they? The pair that actually ... well, if they don't completely fix things, they come to understandings, and seem to not reverse progress made. That's more than we can say for any of the other couples.

I apologize for the edit. I will try to proof more carefully.
