Mad Men: At the Codfish Ball

It's Sunday so that means it is time for a new episode of Mad Men!

Season 5, Episode 7: At the Codfish Ball
Don, Roger and Pete attempt to bring in new business. Sally comes to the aid of a relative.

Come share your thoughts.

Tom, I agree that it's sad Sally's beautiful memory of that night was so completely ruined. Man, between her dad and her mom and little moments like these, a future healthy marriage for Sally Draper would be an incredible achievement, wouldn't it?

And Julia Ormond! I was thinking, as the episode went on, that that was Juliette Binoche. (Don't judge me. They're somewhat similar facially, and they're really close in age.)

I would never! :) Especially because for about 10 minutes, I could only come up with the "Julia" part, and it was driving me nuts. Binoche was one of the names that ran through my mind.

Sepinwall pointed out that imdb says Jessica and Julia are only 17 years apart, but it's not the first time TV or movies have nudged ages apart a little.

Oh and always nice to see Talia Balsam, right? :)

Only 9 months apart for Binoche and Ormond, IMDb says. Maybe Sepinwall was thinking of somebody else? They're both so beautiful, and brunettes, so I'm sure we weren't the only ones with the same small slate of candidates.

Yes! :) I was happy to see Mona return.

When I know actors are a real-life couple ... I know they're acting no matter what, but I always find it fun to see them flirt with each other. I'm sure it's fun for the actors, too; Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally seem to have a blast playing once-and-future lovers on Parks and Rec.
